On the 1840 census of Hartland, Maine the next family up from Reuben is the family of John Sibley and further up on same page is the family of Peter Martin. Both good clues to your question. I know this John Sibley married Martha (Nute) Church the widow of Benjamin Church. John is the son of John Sibley and Jane Pushaw (Pushor, Pushard, Pochard).
