George C. Sibley-son of Dr. John Sibley

Hi,

I'm doing some research on an Indian tribe during the fur trade era. The name George C. Sibley has come up in my research and I'm having trouble finding out a detail.

If my understanding is right, Dr. John Sibley was a Master of Phoenix Masonic Lodge in NC.

A number of the people working with the Indian tribes in the 1820-1850 time frame were Masons. George C. Sibley was in contact with the tribe I'm researching and I need to know if he was a Mason and if so which lodge did he belong to?

I'm hoping someone might be willing to help me. I'd be glad to share info.

Many Thanks,

Karren A.
