From the St. Charles (IL) Chronicle, 28 Oct. 1904: A Collection of Curios Charles Sibley of this city, says the Journal, has the finest collection of Indian relics in Kane County. He has over 1200 varieties of spear heads, most of which were found along the Fox River near St. Charles. Besides these he has a general collection of sea shells and mineral specimens. His collection of stone axes now number 17. Last Sunday he found a nice one just north of St. Charles along the river bank. He has his colleciton in a fine case made especially for it. Two old guns and an old fashioned brass mounted pistol are among his curiosities. Recently he picked up a large spear head canary yellow in color with a pearl white streak which he prizes highly. His largest spear head is 5 2/3 inches in length and 4 inches broad. The largest collection in DeKalb county is owned by M.W. Cole, a Kingston banker, and Mr. Sibley expects soon to make a trip there and exchange ideas with the banker collector. ------------ I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information, just a crumbling old newspaper.
