Whit,
Every time I've seen Gabriel Garrison Sibley (my great- grandfather) and his sister, Mary Jane Sibley Hart, listed on a census, it always has their parents born in North Carolina. I saw something at the East Baton Rouge library which suggested that they were from Mecklenburg County, N.C. and then moved to Mississippi. I think that Pleasant Moore Sibley could have been born in Mississippi . He is very close in age with G.G. and Mary Jane and they were born in Mississippi.
I tried looking for information about Robert Andrew Sibley and Anderson Beckner Sibley but haven't any luck so far. The woman who was related to Pleasant Moore Sibley was from Mississippi and went to a lot of the counties where the family lived to gather information and that is why she had so much to share with me.
Anne
