The She(a)rwin family that is traced to Long Marston/Kirkby Overblow has, particularly on the male line, been extensively mapped in UK, Canada, Australia to 1901 with many branches to the present day. In the UK most famlies were still in the Yorkshire root area - Ripon,York Leeds,Wakefield,Bingley,Halifax,Ilkley,Ingleton but they were spreading into Lancashire - Droylsden,Lancaster,Manchester. The odd one,Headley, is in Kent. I endorse Shane's sentiment that we would be pleased to hear from any Sherwin related family whose forbears were in these areas shortly after the turn of the century.
I would also be pleased to hear from any Sherwin related family with any knowledge of their forbears WW1 experience particularly in the West Yorks(Prince of Wales Own) or West Riding (Duke of Wellington) Regt
