Of Shaver Families interest... There is a Shaver Lake in Fresno County, California. Does anyone have any information on this gentleman's line of Shavers? It would be interesting to know if he started a family there. The reservoir is named for pioneer lumberman C.B. Shaver, originally from Michigan, who logged in the area around the turn of the century. In 1893 Shaver built a small rock-filled dam that impounded water to form a small mill pond to support logging operations. Shaver Lake was constructed by the Pacific Light and Power Corporation, later named Southern California Edison in 1927. Shaver Lake is part of the Big Creek Hydroelectric project which includes a system of lakes, tunnels, steel penstocks and power houses that convert water into electricity. Please see interesting links below, all have something a little different to add.
