Hi,
I'm looking for any possible information on the "Shaffer" name that lived in the Chambersburg, PA area. Of the information that I have collected thus far, the Shaffer's were buried in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Chambersburg, PA. The names of buried there are:
John Robert Shaffer (birth/death unknown)
Hettie Virginia (Montgomery) Shaffer (birth/death unknown)
* Hettie Shaffer mother was Eliza Pratt (Montgomery) Ransom who died December 27, 1990 and was born August 1, 1893.
Both John and Hettie Shaffer are both buried next to each other. Other members buried there are Charlene and Brenda Shaffer (along with 2 brother Thomas and John Jr. Shaffer).
From what I can find the Shaffer was originally spelled "Schaeffer" but I'm not sure when the name changed took place. If you can find obituaries in papers it would been in the Public Opinion in Chambersburg, PA.
Any information/suggestions would be of great help and greatly appreciated.
