Looking for Christopher Shaffer, may have been born Minneapolis Mn. sometime between 1938 <> to 1953. Father Donald Edward Shaffer born 1911 Iowa.
Known facts. Donald was the son of Ethel Putnam and Clarence Shaffer (1) divorced, had sons Donald, 1911, Richard 1913 and Bernard 1917 all in Iowa.
Ethel married 2nd Jack Randal in Rapid City by 1930, we don't know what happended to Jack,
Married 3rd Axel Larson, lived in Minneapolis until her death
Facts on Donald Edward Shaffer, born may 2, 1911 Iowa, was in Minneapolis by 1937 at least. Married spouse # 1, had one child, Darrell Odis Shaffer born March 1938. Donald is listed as "Caretaker" on birth Cert. Donald and # 1 wife divorce abt 1941 in Hennipin Co. Mn
Marrys wife # 2 abt 1942. Donald is in the Army by this time stationed for a time at Ft Ord, assume for basic training. Is a cook. Sent to Germany for a time.
Married 3rd wife, by 1946, 3 children 2 female 1 male by 1953. Donald stays married for 10 yrs.
Married 4th wife at age 52 one child born in 1964. 4th wife says that there is another son, Christopher, does not have any year of birth or mothers name. All the children have a more than strong likeness to Donald. We have pictures of Donald over his years.
Donald was an accomplished pianist but loved to cook and this was his life long profession. Loved animals, quiet, soft spoken, charming, Physical description, abt 5 11, dark almost black hair, dark brown eyes, heavy wavy hair, may have had widows peak, looked younger than his years. very slender buid. When standing would cock one hip out and knee in toward other knee. Smoked did not drink.
Very high cheek bones.
Donald dies July 4 1971 in Cameron, Clinton Co. Missouri while working as a cook in a hotel with resturant. Buried in Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery, Ft. Leavenworth Kansas.
We are in the process of obtaining his military records to determin where he was serving at any given time.
We are looking for Christopher, he has siblings and nieces and nephews that would like to know him. We have found no birth record for Christopher in Minnesota at this time and only assume that this is the place of his birth.
