Would anyone have information on possible Revolutionary War service for FRANTZ SHAFFER serving in Col. Thomas Hartley's Regiment, Continental Line. Pennsylvania Archives 5th Series Vol. III, page 754 shows Francis Shaffner as a member of that unit.
Frantz Shaffer was b. 1737, Wurtenburg, Germany, d. Apr 1792 Mahanoy Twp., Northumberland Co., PA. Frantz son Daniel served in Col. Thomas Proctor's Pennsylvania Regiment of Artillery. Many times the name Shaffer ( Schaffer the original spelling )as been spelled many ways.
I descend from Frantz Shaffer's daughter Hannah who married John Michael Singer.
