Of course, as soon as I get frustrated enough to post a query, over the next couple of days I find more information about Ossa and Bessie Shaffer. Ossa E. Shaffer is the child of William Shaffer and Juda A. Richardson. Bessie (Marks) Shaffer is the child of George and Eliza MARKS Although the marriage records in Fulton Co., IN, do list Juda A. as Julia A. Richardson. Ossa Shaffer lived with Charles and Juda Shireman as Step son, 1900 and 1910. His Obituary lists his parents as William and Judy (RICHARDSON) SHAFFER. Also lists the Shireman children as his sisters and brothers. SHAFFER, 90, Midlothian, Ill., formerly of Tippecanoe, died Sunday afternoon in Oak Forest Hospital, Oak Forest, Ill. He was born May 5, 1892 in Rochester, to William and Judy RICHARDSON SHAFFER. He had lived in Midlothian 25 years, going there from Tippecanoe. He was married in Plymouth April 23, 1911, to Bessie MARKS. She died Oct. 21, 1952. He was a self-employed carpenter. Surviving are three daughters, Arlene JEFFERIES, Tippecanoe; Donna BOTICH, South Bend, and Betty STULTS, Cape Coral, Fla.; two sons, William Harold SHAFFER, Mishawaka; and Jim SHAFFER, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary BRONSON, South Bend; and Bertha HARDING, Orange City, Fla.; and a brother, Riley SHIREMAN, in Florida. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with the Rev. Richard LEWKE officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. She was born July 18, 1892, at Tippecanoe, the daughter of George and Eliza MARKS. In 1911 she was married to Ossa E. SHAFFER.
