Looking for information on Jacob and Hannah Shafer living in Decatur County Indiana in 1850. Living with them is Hannah E. Shafer (18 years old) and Henry Shafer (2 years old). Also living with them are several Purdy children: James A (13 yo), Sarah J (11), Minerva (9) and Isabel A (6).
I am a Purdy descendant and looking for information on these Purdy children. Why were they living with the Shafers? Were they all brothers/sisters or some cousins? Who were their parents?
