I am a dscendent of Adam shafer, son of Daniel shafer, that lives in the Montgomery area.

Adam Shafer is buried in the Brick (German) Reformed Church Cemetery in Orange Co. I am not sure if it is in Montgomery. Buried in the same cemetery is Daniel Shafer born about 1762 and an indication he served in the 4th Reg Ulster Co. Militia. There is a Daniel Shaver listed in that regiment during the revolution.

At the Familysearch.com I found an IGI record indicating a Adam Shafer born 18 Nov 1790 with the Father as Daniel Shafer. There is no indication as to Mother. Now the mystery. I found a marriage record at the same page that was for Daniel Shafer to Catharine Weller 06 Sep 1791. This couple baptised many children at the Dutch Reformed Church, Montgomery, Orange NY. Maybe Daniel had another wife prior to the marriage to Catharine.

On the 1790 census there was a Dedrick Shaver and Fredrick Shaver.

Greg Shaver
I am trying to join the Sons of the American Revolution and was wondering if you had any family information?
