Jacob Shafer b. apx. 1824 in Germany

I am looking for a Jacob Shafer who was born in Germany around 1824. He married Mary J. MacKerrie who was born in England Aug 15, 1819. They met and married in Texas December 12, 1850. Jacob Shafer died April 25, 1903 and is buried in Union Cemetery in Ohio. Any information would be great!
