CEMENT CITY - Beatrice J. Hart, 69, of Cement City passed away on Friday, May 12, 2006, at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac. She was born on May 11, 1937, in Jackson, the daughter of Melvin B. and Virginia M. (Shafer) King. She married Olen W. Hart Jr. on June 22, 1972, in Brooklyn and he survives. Beatrice lived at Vinyard Lake for 18 years, and then many years in Cement City. She graduated from Cement City High School in 1954. She was employed at GM for many years as an assembly line worker. She then worked at Addison Hospital and then at The Log Cabin in Brooklyn. Surviving besides her husband, Olen, are one daughter, Mindy (Tim) Hertzfeld of Jackson; two sons, Pete (Kim) Taylor of Michigan Center and Todd Taylor of Cement City; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Owen (Darlene) King of Harrison, Mich., and Otis (Kathy) King of Whites Creek, Tenn.; two sisters, Bernice Patterson of Mosherville, Mich., and Belinda King of Jackson; nephews; nieces; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin; one sister, Barbara; and one grandchild, Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, with Pastor Drew Woods officiating. Burial will be made in Cement City Baptist Memorial Garden in Cement City. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
