I'm looking for more information, beyond the document authored by Howard LeRoy Shafer in the 60's, on John Joseph Shafer. I've been able to follow his wives (Lydia Ann Dodge) lineage to England in the 1800's, but his heritage seems to be a family mystery.
If you have information about him in Ingham Co, Michigan or Lorain, Ohio I would appreciate hearing, and would be willing to collaborate if you are interested.
