I do not know if there are any siblings for my husband's grandfather. The family told me the name was Jacob Shafer, so I sent for information on a Jacob Shafer I found on the Social Security Death index. The death certificate came back with the name Jacob Lewis Shafer b. 6-8-1881 in Ohio; d. 12-31-1967 in Edwin Shaw Sanitarium at age 62. He was buried on Jan 2, 1968 in Mount Hope Cemetery, Akron, and the funeral was handled by Hennessy Funeral Home in Akron. His parents were Martin Shafer and Anna E. Rudy. I need the name of his spouse to help verify if this is the person related to my husband's family, but the death certificate did not give that info, only showed him as widowed. The certificate also showed that he worked for a Rubber company. His death was caused by pneumonia and bronchial problems. If this is the person you are looking for, I will be happy to send you a copy of the certificate.
