Long belated follow up to your message here and one on "the other" family history message board.
Someone recently passed me a transcript of Cordelia Williams Shadduck's obituary. It states that "She [Cordelia Williams] came to Wisconsin in 1843, and was married to Orrin M. Shadduck, a native of Pennsylvania, on March 3, 1844. Mr. Shadduck died December 28, 1868."
This obit appeared in the Columbus [Wisconsin] Republican on Dec. 16, 1899.
It contradicts the theory that he was born in Steuben, NY. Since it is not a primary source it might be faulted, but it must be based upon something. Any ideas?
