In the 1884 Beer's HISTORY OF ERIE COUNTY, PA:
Joseph Shadduck, a native of VT, married Nabbie Keith and came to Erie Co, settling in Greenfield Twp., then North East Twp. His wife died in about 1799. One account says there were three children, Ira, Betsy, and Matilda. Another account names Harriet Cass as a wife, and mentions the above three children plus David. Then Joseph marries Betsey Willard and has 19 more children, nine are living by 1884.
There is also a family name of SHATTUCK in Erie Co. in the 1884's. It appears to be the decendents of William Shattuck of Conn, and they settle in the opposite side of the county from the SHADDUCK family, Mill Creek and Franklin Center.
I am also interested in Eunice Shadduck of VT, who married Ebenezer Eaton of NH, who settled next to Greenfield Twp, in Venango, Lowville area at the same time frame. Any connection??
