Thank you for your reply. I searched around and found Mary Steward on WorldConnect. Two of the submitters provided sources; however, they are references not to documents, but to other researchers. The ultimate source may be an assumption that because a Mary Steward was claimed as a headright along with William Selby (and others) by Lt. Thomas Truesman in 1659, that she must have become William Selby's wife about 1680. She is shown with a birth year of 1643, yet also having a child in 1698. I will contact the submitters to see if further support is available.
This Mary Steward did not arrive with anyone else named Steward and the citation did not indicate how many acres Lt. Truesman got for her, which might help determine her status.
