Marilyn. First let me say that I have followed your work for probably the better part of 10 years. You are great. I am ashamed to say that I have not been confident in my work until now. So here goes...I am a direct ancestor of the folks this query is concerning. I would have responded sooner but have been unable to work on this for quite some time. But, from what I am gathering, you have someone with questions about Patrick E. Selby. He was infact the brother of Dora Frances Selby (Wilson). I know this because Dora is my great grandmother, d/o Jeremiah Benjamen Selby, s/o Thomas Cook Selby, s/o Eli Selby, and you I am sure know the rest because I followed your footsteps. I have a lot of documentation on my end for anyone who wants to know where and what or if I can help, this includes Patrick. He died at the age of 73, on Apr 14, 1965 in Akron OH. His widow was May Flowers Selby and he had 10 children. He had one sister surviving him at the time, Mrs. Louise Poulton. I have that info to if anyone needs it.
Here is an interesting tidbit...JF (Joshua F. Selby)was one of the original investors of Crooksville China Company. It is in the same area of Weller Pottery, and other well known china companies. The Ohio Selby families were very much involved with Crooksville China. I have the documentation on that as well if anyone out there is a line to JF Selby! Happy Hunting
Now, Marilyn I have a question for you. Do you have a real copy of Mordecai Selby seniors will, proven 1781? If so I would very much like to know how to obtain a copy, it is the one item preventing me from submitting my DAR application. That is unless you know a family secret I can not uncover from here in Oklahoma.
