You saw "Catherine P" in the index on

1920 United States Federal Census > Ohio > Perry Co. > Harrison Twp. > District 63

I subscribe, so I saw it was indexed as "P" but in the images it was really

Catherine A, dau, 2

because the right-hand leg of the "A" is missing; it looked like he ran out of ink or lifted his pen too soon. The top part of the letter is quite triangular, like an "A", not round like a "P".
