I found them on FamilySearch. Census of 1880, Pitt River, Lassen Co., CA, SELBY:
William, 45, IL KY IN; wf. Viola E., 23, CA VT IN.
Sons b. CA: Wm. W., 7; Don D., 5; Charles, [1?]; son, ten months.

FamilySearch also says that Viola was dau/o Mary _ & Hiram Grannis MILLETT. Hiram was b. Ontario, Canada [or Vermont, per Viola in 1880?], s/o Ruth GRANNIS & Artemis MILLETT, b. 1790. Artemis must have been a Mormon because he was of Nauvoo, IL, & Salt Lake City, UT, and had several wives (but the list on FamilySearch must show some duplications of wives' names, such as Ann and Anna & Nancy Hamlet/Hamilton).

Do you know when & where William & Viola died? Have you found the sons on the Social Security Death Index or the California Death Index?
