Hello,
I am looking for my gggrandfather Joseph Schaffer. He is my ggrandmother's father. We are African American. Joseph was married to Rachel Russell. They had 3 children that I know of. Jackson, Irene, and Alta. They were from Festus, Missouri. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it. I do know that Jackson died in 1915, Irene married several times 1 to a Hendricks don't know his first name but he would be my ggrandfather, and Alta married a man who last name was Gill.
I have searched the census and death records for Mo. and can not find him. I know the name is correct because it is on all of the children's death certificate. The spelling may be off but it is the same person.
