Hello Beatrice,
Frederick Shaffer was my 5'th Great Grandfather! And his wife was Maria Elizabeth ? maiden name unknown, they did live in Dutch Fork, Newberry & Lexington Dist., South Carolina. They had one son, and three daughter's, I descend from their son John Frederick Shaffer, who was born Aug. 18, 1774, and died Oct. 24, 1859 in Perry Co., Alabama. He married Magdalina Eichelberger abt. 1792/1794 in Newberry Dist., S.C., and had 9 children. John Frederick's sister's were; Mary Elizabeth Schumpert, Rebecca Eargle, & Ann Catherine Swittenberg...!
