I'm researching this line of Shofners (and various spellings) Scoby, Allison, Henderson, Pate, etc. both up, down and sideways. Any info would be greatly appreciated! I'm an Alllison. They came from Bedford TN to TX. I also know some came from NC/SC. Alzeria Pocohantes Zachariah Scoby Shofner was my great grandmother b. Dec 01 1865 d. Oct 13 1937 She married John Bedford `J.B.` Shofner b. Mar 6, 1862 d. Oct 16 1949 Together they had 15 children, all living into adulthood. The youngest, Blanche was my grandmother and was married to Lorenzo "Earnest" Allison. Both "Zach" as I heard her called and JB are buried in the Levelland City Cemetery, Hockley Co, Tx. Not far from Lubbock where he lived and passed away at the Methodist Memorial Hosp. I have a photo of him but not of her. I have one cy of a rare book written by one of the 15 children, Willis W. Shofner that is facinating. He was the only one never to marry. It's called: "The Other Side of the Hill". It was about his exotic travels around the globe in the 20's and on. Lot's of photo's in the book. It's out of print and I have 1 of 2 copies on my branch. Surely other Brothers & Sisters of his got a copy. I understand there is also a "Shofner Family History" book floating around that I would LOVE to see. Please share any and all info you can with me and I'll do the same w/ others. Thank you!
