A biography/family history of Frank M. Schaefer, Fairview, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 1111 & 1112. Father: Frank M. Schaefer, Sr. Frank M., Sr., came with his parents, George and Mary Schaefer, from Baden, Germany, to Minnesota. Mother: Mary B. Kern, born in Mankato, daughter of John A. Kern.
Frank M.,Jr. graduated from high school and commercial college in Mankato and became a bookkeeper in a bank in Heron Lake, MN, and in ND. In 1907, Frank M., Jr., moved to Fairview, MT, and helped organize the Bank of Fairview. In 1906, he made a homestead claim in the Yellowstone Valley.
On 7 Dec 1909, Williston, ND, Frank married Miss Annie D. Harper, born 17 Jan 1889, St. Charles Parish, LA, daughter of William and Mary V. (Doxy) Harper.
Schaefer children: Burns, b. 1912; James C., b. 1915.
