I have some reason to believe that Friedrich came over in 1834 as an infant with a brother and parents, Peter and ?. This is just conjecture at this point but I began this search with Barbara Schaeffer who married Gottfried Stocker. Barbara was born in New Orleans in 1847. When she died in 1921 in Evansville, IN, her obituary lists a brother still living, Fred. Another family source said she had 2 brothers who were both Confederate soldiers in Louisiana. I have found 2 Confederate soldiers, born in Bavaria, serving in the New Orleans, LA Militia but their are no first names, only initials: M. and B. That doesn't rule them out, however, as Fredrich could be a middle name. I'll keep searching...and will keep you posted.
