Irma, sorry it took me some time to get back. We buried my grandma Saylor this week. We knew it was coming and she's in a better place now. She was married to my grandpa, Charles Saylor. He and his two sisters are the only remaining grandchildren (to my knowledge) of Lewis Saylor. Keep in mind their dad was in his sixties when they were born. That is very interesting that other people are reading this too. I haven't had time in a while to do any research with my grandmother being sick and going back and forth to Cleveland. I hope to start up again in the future. I have traced them back to Switzerland so I am not sure about the Melungeon idea, but some of them may have been here before. I know that later one of Lewis Saylor's brothers went to live in Missouri too, I have it all written down somewhere. Maybe there was a reason some of them went there. We should research their professions or trades, and who they married. Maybe they married into the same family or something. (?) Very interesting. Keep in touch.
