I hope someone can help. My great grandmother was Hattie Mae Root born 1874 in Peterbourogh Canada. Her mothers name was Jane Clark and Hattie had 3 brothers George Root born 1858,Frank 1866, James 1868 and a sister Maria 1870. For some reason they moved to Michigan according to 1880 census.
I strongly believe that the father was David Root who later in 1890 became a cheif of the Chippewa tribe in Ontario Canada. If anyone can help me with getting a birth certificate for Hattie Mae Root or the census record for David Root. Reference RG31-Statistc Canada page 54 microfilm number C-9938 District Bruce North (28) I would certianly appreciate it.
