My Greatgrandfather's sister, Frances (Fanny) Laidlaw, married Hugh Amos Robson in Vancouver, B.C., in 1898. She had met him when she lived in Regina, then in the North West territories, where he was a lawyer for the Territorial Government and then Deputy Attorney General, (1898-1900). After their marriage they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he became a judge. He was for a time the Water Commissioner as well. Eventually he was on the Supreme Court of Manitoba. The Robson Hall, Law building of the University of Manitoba, was named for him. Their children were: Jean Robson, b 3 Dec 1899, d 1 Sept 1982; Isobel Robson, b. 6 June, 1902; Hugh Robson, 20 Sept 1904, d 22 Apr 1984; Gertrude Robson, and twin Kathleen Robson, b 20 Apr 1906; Norman Robson, b 20 July 1912.
