Hi, I am researching my husband's family and am looking to contact anyone with information on the Richerson family from Beckham and Roger Mills County, OK. My husband is decended from J H Richerson (his ggggrandfather), born in Missouri abt. 1835, lived in Mobeetie, TX in 1880 and was involved in the Cheyenne Land Run of 1892, settling near the town of Berlin. He died about 1904 (I don't know specifics on this). My husband is descended from JH Richerson's daughter, Mary Richerson Long, of Mobeetie, TX.
JH Richerson had a son named James R. Richerson, born in Missouri in November 1858, married Alice Holden in Mobeetie abt. 1879 and died February 1937--he is buried in Sayre Doxey Cemetary. James Richerson was Beckham County's first sheriff.
I am trying to find out any information I can on J. H. Richerson and his wife, Mary--they were both born in Missouri (I don't know where) and the census states that both of J. H. Richerson's parents were born in Kentucky. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!!
