I'm trying to find info on my grandfather who went by Dale Dennis Lewis. My dad's dna came back and we are almost 100% sure he was a Richardson and not a Lewis. We always knew he wasn't a Lewis but didn't know who his dad was. Dale was adopted or was illegitimate. His mother was Matilda Howard Lewis. Dale was born around 1910 in McDowell Co., WV. His family was from Ashe Co., NC and Johnson County TN. They traveled and were in Tazewell VA for awhile before going on to McDowell, WV.
I seen your post of Lewis's and Richardson's together and had to post. Maybe there is a connection.
