William Lewis age 52

Could someone please tell me how these children became Richardson after being listed as Lewis in the 1860 census, all but William, Thomas and Mary?
1880 Census Maiden Springs, Tazewell, VA
William Lewis age 61
Ann Lewis age 50
Alexander Lewis age 21
Here Alexander is now listed as Lewis. I assume this is the same family in these three census records. If you know about this family, please let me know if they aren’t the same family in each census record.
I am interested in the Margaret Lewis/Richardson. She may be my son in-law’s GG grandmother.
We have conflicting information about Margaret.
One source has her as a Lewis marrying a Bolling/Bowling. One has her as a Bowling marrying a Lewis and then, P.L. Baker. Then I find her listed as a Richardson in the 1870 Census.
I would appreciate any help you can give with this family.
