Thanks so much for your reply. My story is long. My gr. grandmother was Matilda Howard born 1869 in TN mar. Merdith Lewis of Ashe Co., NC. They had several children but the last one was either adopted or illegitimate. He was my grandfather Dale Dennis Lewis born 1910 in or around McDowell Co., WV. The family never told or didn't know who his father was. My dad did the family tree dna and there is a definate connection to Richardson's. I was amazed to find they were in Ashe Co., NC; Tazewell, VA; and Wyoming and McDowell Co, WV areas around the same time. I have been trying to do tree's(ancestry.com) on the Richardson's that were around my gr. grandmother in hopes to find a connection or clue somewhere or if even some of the Richardson's married into Matilda's family. It is so frustrating getting so close and still hitting that brick wall. My dad turned 74 today and we so want to find out something. Any info would be great. Thanks again. della
