Thanks for the research; it may help to solve a local mystery. As you may or may not know, much of Barkhamsted as a town was covered in the 1930's by what is now the Barkhamsted Reservoir. The small family cemeteries were all dug up and moved to a new central cemetery but there were many graves that could not be identified. Recently the tombstone for Sarah Richardson (died Sept. 1850 age 17) for found. The stone is good condition and no one knows why it was not moved with the others and, more to the point, what should be done with it now.
