Mike,

I found them in 1850 but daughter Sarah is not with them.

1850 BARKHAMSTED, LITCHFIELD, CT
RICHARDSON

Lemuel, age 61 (as in index but may be 64 -difficult to read) born CT, occupation has been written over, looks like it said blacksmith and written over looks like teamster??

Sarah E. age 58 born MA

Lemuel, age 21 born CT

Emily, age 19 born CT

Caroline, age 14 born CT

1860 BARKHAMSTED, LITCHFIELD, CT
RICHARDSON

Lemuel, age 31, farmer born CT

Martha, age 28, born CT

Mary age 4 born CT

Ellen age 1 born CT

Sarah, age 67 born CT

I did not find Sarah in 1870 census but did find son Lemuel and family. Let me know if you would like me to copy that info for you.

I found marriage records for

Lemuel Richardson Jr., farmer, age 21, Barkhamsted, married Martha M. Tiffany, age 18, Barkhamsted, Oct. 22, 1849

Emily M. Richardson of Barkhamsted married James F. Rowley of Winsted, Dec. 25, 1851

I also found a death record

Sarah Richardson born Stockbridge, widow , died April 8, 1866, Barkhamsted, age 72

Its odd that Lemuel and Martha are shown married 1849 but she is not with him in the 1850 census and I can not find her in the census under either Richardson or Tiffany.

If you have access to ancestry.com there is a family tree there which shows the same marriage date and same children as 1860 census. They do not show sources though so I don't know where they got their info from.

They show Lemuel's mother as Sarah Taylor.

They show Lemuel Richardson Sr as born about 1776 and dying July 29, 1856

This would make him about 74 in 1850 rather than the 61 or 64 as it looked to me in the image.

Carolyn L
