Sarah-2 PRATT (Macuth-1) m. John-2 RICHARDS (William-1)?
Can anyone provide the *primary* sources by which the following excerpt from a *secondary* source was developed? I am looking for proof that the Sarah who married John-2 Richards (William-1) was a daughter of Macuth-1 Pratt. Thanks for your help!
“Sarah-2 [Pratt, daughter of Macuth-1 Pratt], b. in Weymouth, mar. about 1671, to John-2 Richards, son to William-1 and Grace (Shaw?) Richards. William Richards was at Plymouth, March 25, 1633, but removed about 1635 or 1636 to Scituate. In 1645, he was at Weymouth, where he served in 1659 as Constable. His will, dated Jan. 18, 1680, was proved July 25, 1682; it mentioned wife Grace and sons John, Joseph, James, William, and Benjamin.
John-2 Richards purchased land in Weymouth, in 1678, of John and Jane Lovell; took the freeman’s oath Oct. 12, 1681. He died intestate; the inventory of his estate, taken Dec. 23, 1695, amounted to L-202:13. His widow survived him.
Issue: 1. Sarah-3 Richards, b. June 20, 1672. 2. Bathsheba-3 Richards, b. Nov. 16, 1674. 3. John-3 Richards, b. Feb. 20, 1679; d. May 15, 1712. 4. William-3 Richards, b. April 12, 1685; d. May 25, 1712. 5. Ephraim-3 Richards, b. April 30, 1687; mar. 1715, Mary Vining. 6. Grace-3 Richards, b. March 16, 1689. 7. Lydia-3 Richards, b. Nov. 8, 1691.”
