James A. Richards, Texas

I am searching for information on James Arthur Richards. He is shown with a birth date of 21 August 1876 on his WWI draft card (living Waco, TX then). His birth is shown as 1881 in the 1910 census in Waco, TX. His birth is shown as 1892 in the 1920 census in Wichita Falls, TX. I am certain all of these men are the same person. He was a plumber and had only one eye.

He was known as "Jim" and is shown as a Richardson in the 1910 census; as a Richard in the 1920 census and as a Richards on the WWI draft card. He married Mary Dean (daughter of Preston Dean and Julia Lawrence) ca 1909-1910, probably in Waco (they are shown married in the 1910 census, living next door to her mother).

Jim and Mary had two children: Nellie Frances (b 1912, Waco) and Arthur L. (born 1915, Waco). Jim either died or left the family unit by 1925. I believe it is possible that Mary remarried to a Crenshaw and died in 1947 in Austin. The children were placed in a orphanage, and Nellie was adopted out within a few months. Not sure what happened to Arthur.

Could he be the same James A. Richards who is shown in the 1900 census in Dallas TX, born August 1886?. Parents are shown as James M. Richards and Mary D. Siblings were Lilly M, Nellie F, and George W (married to Maggie in that census). Interesting that this James had a sister named Nellie F., and our James had a daughter Nellie F. both men were born in August - just 10 years apart.

Thanks for any help, this is my brother-in-laws family. Trish Elliott-Kashima
