William Richards was b c 1805 in North Carolina. Margery Harland Webster was b Dec 11, 1808 in Jackson Co. Ga. They were married 5/26/1825 in Fayette Co. GA. They had some children in Ga then moved to Tallapoosa co AL area in mid 1830s and then were in Louisiana by mid 1840s and then were back in Tallapoosa by 1850 when Wm died. Margery's parents, William and Jane Waits Webster, were also in Tallapoosa in 1850 and 1860 census. Margery then went to Marshall co with her children aft 1870 and died there Jan 28, 1890. Tallapoosa Co is nr. Georgia border with Alabama and is in the middle of the state, near Montgomery. The federal road west went through Tallapoosa. Marshall is in the northwest area of the state.

Their family:

Emely Jane b 9/26/1826 in Georgia and died 6/7/1901 in Marshall. She married Asa Ray abt 1858. They are in 1860 Coffee Co Al census and in 1880 and 1900 Marshall Co, AL census. They lived in Albertville. I don't know where they were in 1870. She had five children, 3 die in Texas, one in Pensacola, FL, and 1 died as a teen in Albertville, Marshall, AL. I have no idea where or when they met as he was from Pike Co., Alabama and went with his parents bef 1850 to Coffee Co., on Al/Fl line.

Permelia Adeline b c 1834 in Georgia died aft 1880 presumably in Elmore Co Al. She married Charles W Ware abt 1858 in Tallapoosa and they were in 1860 and 1870 Tallapoosa census. They are in 1880 Elmore census. It is located adjacent to Tallapoosa. She had 9 children

Samuel b c 1836 in Alabama and no other information

Missouri A b Mar 1844 in Louisiana and marries John A Clemons Oct 11, 1866 in Tallapoosa. She is in 1880 and 1900 Marshall Co census and dies after 1900 in Albertville. She had 2 sons.

Zachariah Theophilus b. c 1847 in Louisiana. He marries Susan Tommes Nov 3, 1868 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. He was in 1850 and 1860 Tallapoosa census and then in 1880 he was in Marshall co. I don't know where he was in 1870 census. The 1900 and 1910 census places him in Albertville, Marshall, AL and then in 1920 he is in Wetumka OK and in 1930 he is in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. He dies 1942 in Wetumka OK. Some have noted that he was born in Birmingham, AL but as that did not become incorporated until 1871 it is doubtful that his birth occurred there. He certainly could have resided there in 1870s before moving to Marshall. He had 8 children.

Degalama b c. 1850 in Tallapoosa. He does not go to Marshall Co with others and stays in Tallapoosa. Most likely he is J.D. Richards in 1880 Tallapoosa census.
