I am so thrilled to say after some digging , I found my correct line of RICHARDS. Martin and Margaret RICHARDS / RITCHARD [ 1850-1880 Allegheny Co. Allegheny City, Pittsburgh, PA ] Their son William J. RICHARDS born abt Aug 1852 listed on the 1860-1900 Allegheny City / Ross Twp. William married Mary Ann abt 1873 . Her maiden name is believed to be DORN / DORAN . They are my GGP or 3rd GP. The reason I say this my Grandfather John T. Richards born 11 Dec 1901/2 killed 18 Jan 1924. On the 1910 census Ross Twp Allegh. Co. PA shows John was a Grandson and on the 1920 shows he was a son. William was not listed on the 1910.

I have more digging to do!

This is what I do know of my Martin and Margaret Richards / Ritchard family line.
1850 Allegheny Co. Alleg. City { Pittsburgh } 9th ward
Martin Richards born abt 1810-1812 PA
he was a Pattern Maker
no wife
children:
Ellen { Aneratta } Richards born abt 1838
Adaline { E. } Richards abt 1841
Robert Richards abt 1843
Theodore abt 1846
on the 1860 shows his name as Martin T. Richards
and gives the girls middle name.

Also in the Martin Richards Boarding home in 1850 were Margaret MITCHELL born abt 1827 and a Thomas SHANNON abt 1827.
My Margaret that married Martin could be this same woman.

Martin and Margarett may of married around 1851-3

1860 [ same place ]
Martin Ritchard age 48 Pattern maker
Margaret J. Richards age 33 Keeper of Boarding home
Ellen Aneratta age 22
Adelaide E age 19 School Teacher
Martin T age 15
William J. age 7
Chrissy J. age 3
also in their home were
several folks plus a Martin Richards age 22 [abt 1838] listed as a Boarder in this Boarding house. Also there was a Margeret E. MITCHEL age 21 [ 1839 ] We know it can't be the same listed on 1850. unless the census taker got her age wrong ?

List of other folks were:
Mary Wright age 3, Sevella Roberts age 1, Briget Reyly age 15, John Brown 45, Lewis Brown 22, Daniel McConal 30, James Crook 25, James Vangisling 31, William Jones 21, Daniel Caletisen 35,

I have to look at 1870, I know Martin and Margarett are listed.
They are on the 1880

Mary Ann Richards [ widow ] age 67,
John T. RICHARDS born Dec 1901-2 my Grandfather listed as a Grandson on 1910

1920 has John T Richards as Son to Mary.

My Gfather John married my GM Ruperta BOLES in July 1922 WV at a JP, and then 6 Aug 1922 St Ursula Cath Church Allison Park, Allegheny Co. PA this is all near Ross twp.
My Gmother was b 1904 . They had my Mother Mary Catherine Richards b 17 March 1923, John was killed 18 Jan 1924 when a bridge gave way. {Hers Island bridge } buried in St Mary's Cem Sharpsburg. PA He worked for William Zoller Packing Co. Spring Garden Ave. Pittsburgh. GF John Richards was working that ice cold day. I have one picture of him and my Gmother, may of been the week my Grandparents married. It is important to me to find my Richards Family since my Mother was not blessed to know them. For some reason if it was the Richards or my Gmother that kept Mother from knowing . She did get to meet her Uncle Robert Richards [ wife Ruth Reitz ] when Mom was a teen . Her Aunt set it up. That was the first and last time she met him . My Mother's Aunt Louise Boles Young told her some of her Richards family. Which helped me alot. I have a long way to go but getting there.

Do any of you tie to this family ? Or have knowledge of above ? Hope this also helps those who are looking on this family as well. Pleaes get up with me if you tie.

Patty
