Retter is definately German. Roots are traced from Austalia from Germany in the 19th century. Retter (Ray Retter) chairman of the Republican Party in Montgomery County, State of Ohio, in early 1900. An attorney, as was his son, John A. Retter, Chief of Reale Estate Air Force Logistics Command, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton Ohio. Awarded the Legion of Merit, 1945.
