I am descended from a Reid who was settled in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland in 1858.
He is my GGG Grandfather and unfortunately I have been unable to trace my line any further back then Him.
I have sent away for the Y chromosome Test Kit, and have recently received it. I am hopeful that it gives me some indication as to his Heritage.
I am just curious if any other Reid men descending from Newfoundland have taken the test and if they found it helpful.
Or if this test is primarily being utilized by American and UK lines.
Just a thought, as I would definately like to get past my Brick Wall and any help would be fantastic.
I am just concerned that the test will prove to be a fruitless venture due to limited Data from this region.
I will take the test very soon and ship it back.
