Does anyone have any information about Lafayette Brown and/or Nancy A. Raven and their ancestry?
The information I have is that Lafayette was born March 15, 1843, probably in Alabama, and died May 19, 1899, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.
He married Nancy A. Raven August 20, 1870, in Lee County, Mississippi. The 1870 Lee County, Mississippi, census shows him living in the Shannon Post Office area of Lee County. Apparently, he and Nancy were not married at this time, as she is shown living next door to Lafayette. This census shows his age to be 24 and her age to be 18.
The 1880 census shows "Lafatte" Brown and wife, Nancy A. Brown, living in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, with three children, Alice M., 9; Rose Lee, 3; and John M., 3 months.
Any information would be much appreciated.
