My step-grandmother nettie raven married sherman batcheller in beatrice, gage nebraska in november, 1885 at age 17. Her parents George P. Raven and Nancie A. Jackson were witnesses as was an Albert Irwin. Her birthplace was said to be New York as was Sherman's. She listed herself as a widow in a 1910 Directory for the city of Mankato, MN (although my grandfather was living and remarried in North Mankato at that time). She also appears to be listed in an 1885 Census at age 16 (living with Frank Raven age 19). She is listed in the 1895 Watonwan County, MN census wiving with her children and inlaws (but not Sherman). Three of her children were not living with her but living together in North Mankato in 1910. What happened to her? Did she remarry? Where did she die? How did Sherman and she meet?
