I have information that I have not verified independently, but believe correct,on John Raven, and some of his descendents. I think likely the same John, I do not know for sure.
John was born in England, and came to the Carolina via Barbados with Sir Hugh Carteret's party in April, 1672. In 1682 he married Ruth Wallen (or Waller), who had recently arrived. In July, he was one of the trustees of the
Protestant Dissenting Antipedo Baptists", for the building of a church; and remained a trustee for the balance of his life.
John and Ruth had at least 3 children: John b 1686, married Elizabeth Beadon (my Line) Sarah, married Thomas Ladson, Mary Ann, married Henry Beadon. Note several marriages between these families.
After the death of Ruth he married Elizabeth Beadon - no issue.
Son John was born in Colleton County SC 1686, was prominent in business and political affairs, and also "Antipedo Baptists". About 1714 he married Elizabeth Beadon, b 1698 in Charleston. They had 5 children, John, William, Rebecca, Mary, and Sarah who married John Daniell (this last my line). John Daniell was the son of Colonel Robert Daniell who was one of the Landgraves created by the Lords Proprietors; he also was (different times, of course), Governor of North Carolina and South Carolina.
