I am a FLACK researcher looking for any information on parents of either Harriet FLACK(born abt 1825 Washington Co. New York) - or parents of Joseph QUA (born abt 1826 Washington Co. New York).
The info I have so far is as follows:-
218 THE GENEALOGY OF THE ROBERTSON.
Harvey L. Qua, son of Joseph and Harriett (Flack) Qua, was born October 16, 1864.
Harvey L. Qua and Anna Coulter were married November 9, 1885.
Harvey L. and Anna (Coulter) Qua had {the following children}:-
(a) Henry J. Qua, born January 14, 1888.
(b) Lina Qua, born October 27, 1890.
(e) Fannie Qua, born October 15, 1897. (no idea if 'e' is a typo instead of 'c')

Joseph Qua age 34 born New York. Farmer. Real Est=$4500, Pers Est=$800.
Harriet Qua age 34 born New York.
John A Qua age 9 born New York.
James H Qua age 2 months born New York.
Betsy Reid age 34 born Ireland. Servant.

Joseph Qua age 44 born New York. Farmer. Real Est=$9000, Pers Est=$1500.
Harriet Qua age 44 born New York.
John Qua age 19 born New York. Farming.
Harvy Qua age 5 born New York.
Susan McE...wn (surname hard to read) age 13 born New York.
IN the same Initial 1850 Census - just a few pages away I find an ANDREW QUA which I am hoping is Joseph Qua's father - especially as he has an ELIZABETH FLACK staying with him (possibly Harriet Flack Qua's sister.

Elizabeth Flack age 23 born New York. (Related to Harriet Flack ?? )
Mary Brown age 14 born New York.
Elizabeth Brown age 9 born New York.
** If Eleanor Qua above is a daughter (age 38) then Andrew was 15 when she was born - unlikely **

The 'QUA' Surname message board here seems a little under-used, but I am hoping that someone out there may see this and be able to help me some way.
