Hi Dana, The Pulhams seem to derive from the villages of Pulham St Mary and Pulham Market in Norfolk, but only a few miles from the Suffolk border (NB, we drop the "shire" from Suffolk, Norfolk, etc). They appear to have spread south through Sufflok, as there are clusters to be found in various parts of the county in the 16th -18th centuries. My ancestors come from Woodbridge in Suffolk and Harwich, just a few miles south in Essex, from the late 17thC to early 19thC. We have a William Pulham b. 1736 in Harwich, son of Francis Pulham (1702-1765), of whom no more is known. If he turns up in your family tree, please let me know. Happy hunting. Cheers Peter
