Hi Jeff, Unfortunately, I can't help you connect to our family tree. There are a couple of possibilities when it comes to your Pulham ancestry, as there is a village called Pulham in Dorset, as well as the adjoining villages of Pulham St Mary the Virgin and Pulham St Mary Magdalene (now known as Pulham St Mary and Pulham Market), located in Norfolk only a few miles north of the Suffolk border.

So, prior to the eighteenth century, clusters of Pulhams can be found in Somerset and Dorset, and in Gloucestershire amongst other places. My Pulhams most likely came from the Norfolk villages. Various Pulhams are to be found in villages nearby in north Suffolk in the sixteenth century, and they seem to have migrated to many other parts of Suffolk by the early seventeenth century (including Woodbridge, and Harwich nearby in Essex).

As for the German ancestry, that doesn't apply to the Harwich Pulhams as far as we know.

All the best.

Cheers Peter
