Hello,

I have neither of these Walker people or husbands in my data. It was Jane Maria Polk, sister of President Polk, and daughter of Samuel Polk, who m. James Walker, of Fayette Co., KY., whose Walker ancestors go back to Joseph Walker, b. Ireland, died in KY., and these Walkers come from the John Walker line of Wigton, Scotland. I don't know anything about this story, but from my research over the years, it appears that anyone who had any connection by name to the President or his kin became kin, even though they may not have been. Walkers are in great abundance everywhere, good luck on finding them. Bill Polk, Kansas City, MO.

ILL/ALL:
I wonder if this Polk/Walker connection could be related to PRES. JAMES J. POLK and his 'cousins' named WALKER ???
We've read that the mountainman, JOS. L. MEEK (whose mother wsa SPICEY WALKER who mar. JAMES MEEK), went to see Pres. James K. Polk at the Whitehouse, and was greeted by Pres. Polk as 'cousin' !
I descend from DICEY WALKER , SPICEY'S SISTER, and we are trying to figure out who SPICEY * DICEY'S PARENTS WERE!
Any ideas, anyone???
Spicey mar James Meek, Wash. Co. VA 1790
Dicey " Peter Brimberry " " 1791 (my line)
THANKS!
