Previously I had stated John Jr. was probably married to Martha Harris 1814 Maury County Tennessee which I had taken from a list of Maury County Marriages. Other information stated Mary "Polly Mc Bride married John Polk in 1814 Maury County. I am uncertain of which is correct.
It would be difficult to prove this marriage was John Jr. of Maury based on the 1820 census of his fathers household which appears to document John Jr. without a wife.
John Jr. Polk of Maury b: bet 1794 & 1799. John Jr. was living in Hardeman Co., Tennessee as of Oct 1828 as verified by the deed of conveyance to his brother Evan Shelby Polk. A John Polk was married in Hardeman County Tennessee Jan 1830 1 year and 2 months after the above deed
was recorded.
Is anyone related to these people who can shed light on this couple ?
